Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care trains and supports individuals and families who are ready to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home for youth in need.
As part of Mountain Comprehensive Care Center, our foster families are connected to an array of services, experienced professionals, and ongoing support throughout their fostering journey.

You do not need to have all the answers before reaching out.
Becoming a foster parent is a meaningful decision, and you will not make it alone. Our team will answer your questions, guide you through certification and training, and help you understand what fostering could look like for you and your family.
Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care serves youth who may have experienced abuse, neglect, family disruption, or other difficult circumstances. Foster parents provide structure, encouragement, understanding, and a secure place to call home while our professional team provides therapeutic and practical support.
SUPPORT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
Foster parents receive training, guidance, and ongoing assistance from an experienced team.
Personalized Support
In-home therapeutic services, case management, and ongoing guidance based on the needs of the youth and foster family.
Training and Connection
Specialized foster parent training, monthly support groups, and opportunities to connect with other foster families.
Help When Needed
Respite services, financial compensation for youth in your care, and crisis intervention available 24 hours a day.
You will not be alone in this journey.
Our team will help you and the youth in your care navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and move forward together.
WHO CAN BECOME A FOSTER PARENT?
Foster parents can be single or married and come from many different backgrounds.
You may qualify if you:
- Are at least 21 years old
- Can provide a nurturing and supportive home
- Meet basic income guidelines
- Have appropriate bedroom space and a separate bed for each foster child
- Have reliable transportation
- Are willing to complete required training
- Agree to use nonphysical forms of discipline
- Are willing for household members to complete required background checks
WHAT MATTERS MOST
Children need adults who can offer patience, consistency, encouragement, and care.
You do not have to be a perfect parent or have a perfect home. You do need to be willing to learn, work as part of a team, and provide a safe environment where a young person can begin to feel secure.

HELPING YOUTH MOVE TOWARD A STRONGER FUTURE
A safe and supportive home can help a young person begin healing, build stability, and develop confidence for the future.
The goal of care may include reunification with family, adoption, or another permanent living arrangement based on the needs of the youth. Throughout that process, foster parents become an important part of a team working to help each young person feel safe, supported, and valued.
