On April 5, 2013, MCCC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for a $1.2 million transitional housing center for homeless veterans to be built on Douglas Parkway in Pike County. The facility is a 25-bed unit that will provide transitional housing for homeless veterans and serve counties located throughout the eastern part of the state.

Veterans staying at the facility will also have access to MCCC programs that treat behavioral health issues. Veterans will also be linked to other resources and programs they need such as educational services, job training, addiction services, etc. Once they are stabilized, they will be assisted with finding permanent housing.

Please check back often to follow the progress!
