| Mission: |
| TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND DIGNIFIED ENVIRONMENT WHICH ASSURES INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING A CRISIS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME STABLE.The Adult Crisis Unit is an eight bed facility. The Unit is open 24 hours - 7 days per week and is available to both men and women. The unit provides short term crisis intervention, (average length of stay is 4 days) and is available to those individuals at risk of psychiatric hospitalization, and without intervention would likely require such hospitalization.Multiple services are provided in the Unit: Assessment and evaluation, treatment planning, crisis intervention, discharge planning, skill building activities, psycho educational and individual / group interventions, psychiatric services. |
| Admission Criteria |
| The Individual shall be: age 18 or over; medically stable; able to perform activities of daily living; able to contract for safety; experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness which it is thought will decrease in severity under continuous supervision in a safe clinical environment; at risk of psychiatric hospitalization; but does not meet the criteria for involuntary hospitalization. |
