SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

Having a meaningful and productive day may involve having employment in the community.  Individuals who want to work in the community are supported in that decision through the Supported Employment program.  MCCC works cooperatively with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to implement the Supported Employment program.

Supported Employment staff work with individuals with mental health concerns as well as those with developmental and/or intellectual concerns if they have a desire for community employment.  They assist in helping the person identify a job they might enjoy, contact prospective employers, assist with completion of job applications and preparation for job interview, monitoring of progress on job, and assist in resolving any concerns or potential problems.
